Tap
Originating in the United States, tap dancing became popular in the nineteenth century and is growing in popularity all over the world. The tapping sound made when the small metal plates on the shoes touch a hard surface gave it an appeal to a younger generation of people. The rhythmic tapping makes the dancer not just a performer but also a percussive musician. We here at Break’N Out Dance would like to give the opportunity to all ages to fall in love with the many beats and rhythms produced through tap dancing.

Ballet
Ballet emerged in the late 15th century renaissance court of Italy and further developed in the French court from the time of Louis XIV in the 17th century. In the 20th century, ballet continued to develop and change as it has throughout time, introducing such developments as contemporary ballet. It is highly technical form of dance including such aspects as Pointe work and turn-out. The graceful, flowing, precise movements bring beauty and art to life.

Jazz
Jazz is a term that can refer to several related dance styles. Today, it is present in many different forms. Jazz is commonly taught in dance schools and performed by dance companies around the world. It continues to be an essential element of musical theater, where it may be interwoven with other dance. Jazz dancing can be seen in music videos, in competitive dance, and on television shows such as, So You Think You Can Dance. We try to teach both traditional and contemporary styles of jazz along with reinstalling technique within our students.

Ballroom
Ballroom dance refers collectively to a set of partner dances, which originated in Germany and are now enjoyed both socially and competitively around the globe. In the early 20th century, the on-screen dance pairing of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers greatly influenced ballroom dancing in the USA. Here at Break’N Out we offer 6 week sessions teaching the beginnings of ballroom dancing. We start with the foxtrot and rumba. So come get lost in time and have some fun learning ballroom.

Hip-Hop
Hip hop dance refers to dance styles, mainly street dance styles, primarily danced to hip hop music, or that have evolved as a part of the hip hop culture. By its widest definition, it can include a wide range of styles such as breaking, popping, locking and krumping, and even house dance. It can also include the many styles simply labeled as hip hop, old school hip hop, hip hop new style and freestyle. Break’N Out is continually redefining hip hop in the minds of our youth students. We try to incorporate as many styles in our classes as we can to open our students eyes to diversity through dance.

Hip-Hop
Step is a dance style where footwork is the most important part. Body and arm movements are used in order to stylize the dance. Step dance originated in Africa. It is a way to express yourself through the rhythm you produce with your body. Step has become popular in today's culture through fraternities and sororities but is also seen in movies and TV shows. This style of dance recreates beats and rhythms much like tap dancing but uses your body to create the sounds rather than metal taps.

Ballroom
Break dancing, also known as b-boying or b-girling is a street dance style that evolved as a part of the hip-hop movements in the United States. Break dancing involved the elements of toprock, downrock, freezes, and power moves. B-boying may have begun as a building, productive, and a constructive youth culture alternative to violence but today b-boying is a discipline somewhere between those of dancers and athletes. Break dancing has begun to be seen on popular shows such as, So You Think You Can Dance and America's Best Dance Crew.
